It's National Ice Cream Month

It’s National Ice Cream Month                             [Bulletin date: July 6, 2025]

In 1984 President Ronald Regan proclaimed July to be the month to celebrate this frozen confection.  Historical records indicate similar frozen desserts were enjoyed as far back as the second century B.C. and apparently George Washington owned “ice cream pots”.  Later, in the mid-20th century, ice cream became a morale booster during WWII and the Armed Forces became a leading ice cream producer in the United States. Today, ice cream can be a key ingredient for get-togethers with family and friends and it’s a great way to open communication between multiple generations.

So why not host an ice cream social and invite family and friends over?  It can be as elaborate or as simple as you like.  After all, who doesn’t like ice cream?  Apparently 90% of Americans do! And, the best part about an ice cream social is it can be good for your mind (creativity), body (make it low-fat, no sugar added), and spirit (relaxation with special people).

So, don’t let July go by without celebrating National Ice Cream Month!  For some basic ideas on how to have an ice cream social go to https://www.wonderfullifefarm.com/blog/2023/7/how-to-host-an-ice-cream-social
