Lent for the Mind, Body, and Spirit

Lent for the Mind, Body, and Spirit                  [Bulletin date: March 22, 2026]

Lent is a great time to get in touch with our mind, body and spiritual health.  Traditionally the focus has been on giving something up for Lent.  Perhaps this year we may improve our lives by doing something that brings us closer to God.

Start by broadening the mind with activities that help others.  Join a ministry or outreach at St. Ann.  Most of all, treat others the way you want to be treated by thinking before reacting to a situation.

Physical health may be improved by eliminating poor food choices and decreasing alcohol usage and smoking.  Don’t forget to add healthy diet and exercise choices to your daily routine.

Spiritual health can improve when we open our hearts and listen to God’s call during Lent.  Consider devoting a specific time for prayer, reading scripture and inspirational writings, or go on a retreat (in-person or online).  Lent is also a time when special services are offered such as Stations of the Cross and penance services.

Whatever you choose to do, let it continue long beyond this Lenten season.  Remember, your choices this Lent will allow God to work within the perfect image and likeness of Himself – YOU!
