Men – take care of yourselves! [Bulletin date: June 21, 2026]
Every June since 1994, Americans have celebrated the men in our lives by promoting Men’s Health Awareness Month.
As a leading source of men’s health, the Men’s Health Network is concerned that men die too soon – nearly six years earlier than women. This early loss of fathers, sons, and brothers leaves too many empty seats at family gatherings. But together, we can change that.
Creating healthful habits such daily exercise and eating healthy is just the beginning. With the leading causes of death among men being heart disease, cancer, and accidental death, it is important for all men to get regular checkups and to be aware of individual health risks based on age, ethnicity, and lifestyle. It is also important to discuss family medical history with a physician to possibly prevent a health concern or perhaps catch it early.
The issue of men’s health is a family issue because it affects wives, mothers, children, and sisters. As family members we should encourage the men in our lives to have regular checkups, we should share healthy meals together, or just simply take a walk with them. Keeping the men in our families healthy will keep everyone healthy and happy too.
The Men’s Health Network is a great resource for a variety of issues from head-to-toe such as depression, anxiety, stress, dementia, heart health, lung health, gastrointestinal health, urinary health, and even eye and foot health.
